Utah Health Information Network (UHIN)

UHIN is a full service clearinghouse. Claims are submitted electronically using HIPAA-compliant formats.

UHIN can handle:

  • 270/271 Eligibility Request and Response
  • 276/277 Claim Status Inquiry and Response
  • 837 Electronic Claim
  • 835 Electronic Remittance Advice
  • 864 Date Unformatted Error Report

Requirements  
  • Use of the HIPAA-translatable ANSI formats.
  • Testing with your vendor or clearinghouse prior to electronic submission. After successful testing, contact the UHIN EDI Helpline to request enrollment material and production (live) status.
  • Maintenance of a backup file sufficient to recreate the claims file should the original be damaged.  You must maintain source documentation.
  • Access by Regence to above documentation in order to audit and confirm information submitted on any electronic claim.
