Treatment Cost Estimator
As part of our ongoing
efforts to make cost and quality information available
to members, Regence launched our Treatment Cost
Estimator in late March. Our members will be able
to access network average cost for a range of treatment
options and conditions. In addition, members on
select Regence products will be able to view an
out-of-pocket expense estimate for these same conditions
and treatment options.
What differentiates the Regence Treatment Cost
Estimator from those already available in the marketplace
is its ability to:
- Isolate or aggregate the average costs to the
geographic region the consumer
resides in
- Compare the average cost of various treatment
options
- Separate the treatment into easy-to-understand
stages and provide the average number of days
within each stage
- Provide information about the services associated
with the treatment, including the frequency of
the service within each stage
- Highlight cost differences between places of
service (e.g., an outpatient hospital versus
a free-standing center)
