New FEP wellness initiative programs
Beginning January 1, 2010, the Federal Employee Program (FEP) BlueCross and BlueShield Service Plan will reward members when they complete the adult Blue Health AssessmentSM or the child Body Mass Index (BMI) Assessment (with a BMI in the 85th percentile or higher). The intent of these programs is to encourage wellness and prevention and to help remove barriers to care.
When the adult or child completes an assessment, they will receive a MyBlue Wellness Certificate that entitles them to receive specific wellness-related services with the copayment waived or no out-of-pocket cost. The certificates will include:
- Member name
- Contract identification number
- Effective date
- Expiration date
- Provider information and instructions
